Diamond Springs Boxer Rescue

NEW!!!!!!2/5/2006

Hi Everyone
Tim and I need some help with a rescue girl we are calling Lucy. She has a broken rear leg that requires surgery. The cost of the surgery will be about $700.00. Normally we would be able to put this on our Boxer Rescue Account at Hamilton Vet Clinic, however due to the extent of the injury, Hamilton is not equipped to do it. We will be taking her to a Clinic in Allegan, but because we have not worked with them before, they are requiring most of the payment up front. Tim and I will pay for the surgery up front, but we need help. I know that most of us are strapped right now so any donations that you might be able to give would be Greatly Appreciated. Ask your friends, family or anyone you know that is an animal lover, we need all the help we can get. We are able to take credit cards through the studio as well as cash, checks or pay-pal. Checks can be made out to Diamond Springs Boxer Rescue. If you can help email us or call the studio at ###-$$$$$ Thanks Mark

This is how Lucy come to us

We have worked with Hamilton Vet Clinic for the past 10 years or so and without them we would not be able to do as many rescues as we have done. The Clinic called us this afternoon (Fri. Feb 3rd) and asked if we would be willing to help with a boxer mix girl. Normally we don't rescue mixed breed, but because the clinic was asking for help we knew that she must be something special so we just couldn't say any thing but yes. Lucy is about 8 months old and is as sweet as they come. She was brought to the Clinic by a young woman who was at a friends house when she saw another person at the house pick up the dog and slam it to the ground, Not sure what to do, the young woman picked up the dog and brought her into the clinic and asked for help. We have encouraged her to file a police report or to give us the name of the person responsible but she is afraid of the ramifications to her and her family. She was told that "snitches end up dead in ditches"... . We will keep everyone posted on Lucy's progress

July 2005:
We have 9 kids in rescue at the current time. Several are with us for the longterm
We have 1 residence from a military man

One Who is blind and has a heart murmor
Two that are tied at the hip and can't live with out the other. And they weigh over 110 lbs each
One has an eating disorder that we are trying to diagnose with our vets help. But after a year and a half she still won't put on weight
She was on her own in the wild for the firt several years of her life.
One has had such a time in life up to coming to us he get scared quickly and will hide if someone new comes in.
He came from another rescuer who seperated him from his father and left him in a garage for a while.
Three are happy healthy adjusted and ready for homes.

The problem is we don't get any good applications.
Potential adopters who have convictions for animal cruelty, are away from home for 12 or more hours a day, or want the dog for breading. NOT!!!
